We got a bunny this summer. It's pretty cool. It's litter trained and not really very messy. It's not the most snuggly thing in the world -- she's got an attitude. It likes to sit on my wife's shoulder -- sort of like a parrot, except quiet and fuzzy.

We call her Honey . She's a Netherlands Dwarf -- I think.

Hey, it's nice to see some Australian animals being mentioned. Pity they don't make good pets

I'd suggest a snake, too. Maybe a Gecko.
Ball Python snake. Males grow to four feet, females to six, yet for snakes, they're easy to keep.

Leopard gecko. Easiest of all lizards to keep. I have two, and they're no problem. Except for the fact that I can't tell them apart, thus have named them "Gecko" and "Gecko"....

How about a Venus Fly trap? Yeah its a plant but at least you won't have to take it out for walks and have to deal with the leash.
