In the 'Drow Quests', when the Matron Mother asks you to get either the eye of a Beholder or the Brain liquid stuff, how is it possible to finish that in time? I tried and then Phaere appeared and attacked me because I took to long! Help!

Do them before initiating the quest in the first place. I usually clear out all three areas before even going to the Drow city.

But the Western dungeon, the ones with the Kuo-Toa's, is a pretty easy place you should be able to clear out without resting.

The eyestalk of the beholder should be available right at the entrance to the area. I believe you have 3 game days to complete the quest. How much time are you taking to rest?

Hmm...I have 'Rest until Healed' on...maybe that will help if I turn it off.

Well, here's a bit more help. This is the order of quests easiest to hardest.
Kua Toa
Beholder
Illithid.

And the rest until heal maybe the problem after all. How many clerics and healing spells do you have learned? The more learned, the less time you rest.

Not very many, actually...I usually just use potions!

At this point in time you should have at least one regeneration item, and probably more. If you're like me, you memorize very few healing spells, preferring to depend upon the items instead. So yes, I would think the "rest until healed" option is the problem. The last time I was in the Underdark, I cleared out the beholder city in only a few hours. It shouldn't take long with the right items.

Why don't you just kill the matron mother, get the goods you need for the dragon, and leave that hellhole ? The first time i played SoA i did everything the drow asked me, but the second time, i simply slaughtered the whole town.

You miss a lot of XP and items if you just slaughter the city (which is pretty unreal as well).
