Shocked I'm a CUSTOMER!

From Yahoo Odd News...

Quote:

NYC man sued over 25-foot Viagra rocket

NEW YORK - A New York man is being sued for trademark infringement after he towed a 25-foot-long fake missile around Manhattan with the words "Viva Viagra" printed in blue on its sides.

An attorney for Viagra-maker Pfizer Inc. says that the man's use of the company's logo could confuse consumers into thinking the rocket was an actual advertisement for the drug used to treat male impotence.

But 48-year-old Arye Sachs of West Babylon says no one would be deterred from buying the blue pills because of he what he did. He says he knows because he's a "customer."

Sachs hauled the missile on a trailer hitched to his car through Manhattan, where he parked it in front of the Trump Tower on Sept. 8. He also drove it past Pfizer's headquarters.

Errmmmm.... don't know what to add here. Obviously, it's not a pickle in his pocket... but I don't think I'd be bragging I was a customer...

Maybe the joy of getting his sex life back had to be expressed.

They're not annoyed, they just manipulated it to make an even bigger media impact. After all, which of you actually saw it? But you now know about it...

But if you percieve them as a heavyhanded corporate bully, are you going to go with their product, or go with one of their competitors?

Depends on whether their goal is to grab a bigger percentage of the market, or to *ahem* enlarge the market. If it's to grow the market overall, then this kind of promotion helps. If it's to take more of the market, then... it may still help.

Why? Well, who's their market? Certainly not those in the 18-35 demographic. Few males in that age group should need the benefits that their product provides (he says, while tap-dancing around the subject). It's those who are older... the guy in his 50s whose sex life has been struggling. He doesn't care about whether they're jerks or not... he cares about whether their product works. And when some guy is willing to parade down the streets of Manhattan bragging... well, maybe it's worth having a discussion with his doctor to check it out...
