What is the wall paradox? the paradox is with the standard walls the farthest seeable position acts strange with the gaps in the wall. I know we've talked a bit before of the strangeness of the FRUA inherited wall style.
Check out the difference between the first two attached files with the setup of alternating walls in the farthest distance. the third shows the overlapping/combination of the two. ST

In fact, I am being held up with the "streamline" process as I have to figure out what to do about this. The editor automatically will fill in the blanks with copies of the back wall, but I have to figure out if there is special case on how it works if there is a break in the back wall.

I need more info before I can offer anything.
![]() Have you tried doing a 'test' wall with each of the distant walls being different colors? that helps to figure out which is which. I also recommend making a wallset for testing that has the wall letters on the wall. |

I think I have the idea to figure this out. What I'm referring to is the alternating of the "J" and "P" walls on the template (included template for reference below). If you have gaps, they don't line up to 7 spots on the wall, they make 11 spots (for lack of better term) of the same size with gaps and walls filling those spots.
I dunno, I hope this helps. The 1 and the 2 are where "you" are, and of course the walls are right angled. Its just the far away wall spots act strange when they have gaps. ![]() ST

I apologize for being dense, but I still don't get what you're trying to do or explain.
![]() I don't know what you mean by gaps in the wall. Do you mean there is a wall with that is 7 cells long, but one of those cells is not filled in/left blank? You can search the Yahoo group, but I'm pretty sure that the way this displays, even though it's not the best way or the prettiest, is exactly how CocoaSpud intended for it to display, as it's exactly how FRUA displays. |

This is exactly how FRUA acted, as well. I'm not condemning it, just trying to get a 3d template for making walls and/or backdrop. ST ps, perhaps I am muddling this explanation even more, but I will stop trying to explain and instead show my results. THEN if necessary to show my work (in truespace) I will ![]()

I'm pretty sure that I get what you're talking about now.
![]() ![]() Note that there are walls that show 7 distant walls and walls that show 5 distant walls. Look through the config.txt wall section to see what I mean. They look different in DC, but only at the far away wall level. |
