Default NPC Creation in DC

The monster editor does not seem to collect enough information for a NPC character. For instance, it does not ask for class, ie. mage as opposed to fighter. Or if the NPC has any extrordinary stats. Am I missing smething here?

If you are editing NPCs in the monster editor then you are going about it the wrong way. Under "global settings" you can define NPCs, then if you want to use them as friendlies use the add NPC event, for enemies they are useable (after you define them as NPCs) in the combat event as both friendlies and enemies.

How do you get an NPC in combat? For instance I have a NPC entitled "evil warrior" and I would like 4 of these evil NPCs to attack the players in combat.

Ok, DC is a bit different than FRUA.....
if they're not joining the party, they're monsters, technically, not NPCs. You need to make all hostile NPCs monsters. Once you've done that, go into "event" mode and click on the location you want the battle to happen and there should be an event type called "Combat" or something like that. Then you just add the warriors you added in the monster editor. If you want it to be random, you want Step events....

Yeah, don't question our sanity, people do that enough....

I that really true? Unfortunately, I have DC not here in front of me, but I think that NPCs defined in the Global Settings can also be added in the combat events both as friendly or hostile monsters. There is no need to create NPCs in the monster editor in my opinion. If nobody else is quicker, I will test that tonight....

This brings me back to my question. How do you get the NPCs created into a specific combat? The monster editor does not allow you to create a NPC.

Hey Jonnie, go with what Dinonykos said. Place a combat event where you want it, chose the 'monsters' button and scroll down the list until you get to 'NPC combatants' this will bring up a list of all of the NPCs you have created. You can add them just like monsters, choosing whether or not they are hostile.

When I scroll down the list of monsters there are no NPC combatant choices. The list ends with Zombies.
I have created 15 different hostile NPCs maybe I need to specify that they will be combatants somewhere. But I have not found where to specify that. If someone knows the process perhaps they could describe to me.
