Shocked Guess they meant it...

From Yahoo Weird News...

Quote:

Pa. man watches helplessly as train squashes truck

BELLEFONTE, Pa. - Nathan Miller learned the hard way that "Road Closed" signs are posted for a reason. The 25-year-old Milesburg man ventured onto a closed road Sunday afternoon in search of good fishing at Bald Eagle State Park, but got his pickup truck stranded on some railroad tracks.

After trying for 45 minutes to dislodge the truck, Miller said he could do nothing but step back and watch a Norfolk Southern train smash into it.

"I backed up a little bit and watched the show," he said. "It looked just like TV but louder."

Signs clearly stated the road was closed, but Miller said he decided to "give it a shot" after hearing about the fishing spot. He has no intentions of going back.

"I was an idiot," Miller said. "Pretty much a local idiot just trying to go fishing."

Police cited Miller for trespassing.

Neighbors could hear the train screeching its brakes for some time before the crash, and state police said no one was hurt.

He's lucky they didn't charge him for littering and make him pick up the pieces. I wonder if the railroad could sue him for damages to the train? It probably needs new paint at least.

Assuming the guy was insured, that should be covered by his insurance policy.

It is ironic but not funny that statisticly more people die during sports fishing than any other sport. WHY? ALCOHOL and STUPIDITY. This guy admitted to having a stupid moment.

This is quite a common thing it seems, yet I still dont understand how people brake down on railroad tracks.

The odds of it hapepning right there must be like 1/10000000000

lol.

I'm always impressed with the way the american trains go through things; here in the UK we get a derailment if we simply give our trains a good, hard stare.

Obviously it doesn't take away from the fact that it was a dumb thing to do. The guy is:
a) unlucky - he lost a car
b) lucky - he didn't lose his life
c) really lucky - nobody else lost theirs

Still, worth a laugh for something so stupid but without fatal consequences. Bad me.
