Roll Eyes Star Wars ep I-II

Just watched these over the past couple of weeks with my son, who's now *really* into Star Wars. Yeah, I missed 'em the first time around... and yeah, I can say I didn't miss much

Now I know why...

... people hated Jar Jar Binks so much
... people talked about wooden acting
... ep III was considered a step above...

I did find Anakin's foray with the Dark Side interesting in ep II... quite a bit of foreshadowing there. Special effects and such... yeah, nice, but not enough. Nice twists of irony there... so far, we've had... what... five Jedi masters linked to each other as padawans?

Yeah, I know I'm raising ancient history, but I can't talk about it much with my son. He's enthralled... ah, to be eight again... without the other stuff...

I actually dont mind them. I like the sword play in ep 1 against darth maul. When i first watched em, I thought they were crap as I was comparing them to the originals, but over time they grew on me.

PS Jar Jar was a bad idea.

Oh the number of 'discussions' I had with a daft friend, he thought the pod racing was the bst bit of ep one, but I had to keep correcting by informing him the battle at the end was the best bit!
I think everyone thinks Jar Jar was a bad idea

Can't stand Episode II, or episode I, except for the Darth Maul fight at the beginning.

A Dual bladed lightsaber against two jedi? Yes please.

What I hated about Episodes II and III though was Qui Gonn *never* made an appearance as a force ghost. What the hell? He was awesome.

That was because he didn't bond with the force upon his death. He discovered how to in the spirit world and taught the technique to Yoda and Obi-Wan in their exile. That is why there bodies disappeared upon there death and why they can still interact with the living world without the living having to meditate to communicate.

I liked II, and I wasn't has bad as people said. They do grow on you upon seeing the whole package. Qui Gonn is my favorite Jedi.

By "force ghost", are you talking about the interactive voice / apparition in the stars kind of thing? If that's so, then how did Anakin/Vader learn how to do it? Or am I missing something else entirely?

a Few questions on ep III i have are:

1) Chewbacca is like second in command of the wookie planet, how did he end up as a smuggler in ep IV with Han Solo? and just how old is he then??

2) where's the Wedge? Wedge was in all 3 of the old movies as a pilot, he was one of the only ones to survive the wars and is seen at the end of ep VI celebrating with the ewoks. Apparently he was also a big figure before hand and Star wars fans were told he'd be mentioned at least in ep III. (They showed the dude who addopted the droids who is meaningless, captain antillis or something, but no wedge).

But, i guess the movie went long enough as is

...you're not missing anything. Plothole! lolz!

As to Chewbacca, iirc, the long and short of it is: he eventually was captured during the attacks on kashyyyk by the empire. Han solo was fresh out of the imperial officer's academy, had a concious, and set him free. Chrewbacca found friendship in han, and swore a life debt.

Correct me if I'm wrong, though.
