Default Where I've been

Hey Everybody. Some of you may have noticed I haven't been around for awhile (others may still be doing a Happy Dance thinking I was gone for good ).

I did leave IW back around Spring of 2005 for a number of reasons, none of which had anything to do with anybody here. A long series of r/l events began in early 2005 that brought about several major life changes - some good, some bad, some both - in a very short period of time. I am still working on recovering from the most recent of these events.

One of the good things that occurred was discovering NWN online and trying MMORPGs for the first time. It's funny now how ridiculously sad my first character builds were. I played 1st Edition PnP for several years and tried applying the principles from 1st Edition to character-builds in NWN. LOL. Needless to say, it didn't work too well. But I did find a server I was very happy with (and continue to spend a great deal of time playing). My apologies to Ziroc, but it isn't Undermountain.

Once I got hooked on MMORPGs, I spent more time doing that and less time posting in forums. I have to admit it feels really good to come back here and still see many of the friends I left behind. There was a time when I couldn't imagine NOT posting on IW every day (usually several times a day), but r/l has a way of slapping you in the face when you least expect it - and I got slapped hard. God was always in control, though, even when it seemed like my life was spinning out of control, and everything has worked out for the best in the long run.

In most ways, I'm still the same person, But in other ways, I'm not. You can't experience life changes without being changed yourself in the process.

Now I'm back, even though I might not post as frequently as I did before. I still look forward to learning what has changed for everyone else during my time away. While I see a lot of familiar names, there are also some I don't see. I miss all of the members I had so many good discussions with in the past and hope we can have more to come.

In the meantime, if anybody sees Davros, Tell him "I disagree". He'll know what you mean.

I just presumed that you'd gone on a mighty trek somewhere to get the words 'The Barbarian' removed...

This is the day which the LORD hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.
Psalm 118:24

..because our brother Cerek has returned! Thank you for mentioning that God is in control. He really is, if we truly have faith and stand firm in it.

If you would like to share more via PM, I would happy to listen, or read as it were.

..and yes, I did mean April 2005, in the other thread.

Peace, my friend. It's a pleasure to have you back.

I seem to remember some of your postings about things back then, and if my memory serves me correctly, I am very pleased to see you able to post back here. IW is a place you can always come back to, it seems... no matter what challenges get thrown at you.
