Apparently there is a CSS-like filter called "chroma" that can be used like CSS style sheets to make a certain color of an image transparent... In our case, we (most of us) use the same greenish-color for the background in our icons, spell effects, etc., so we can make all (most) of our PNGs transparent without doing anything to the image files themselves!
The hex RGB values for this color is: 67f79f. However, because of the strange gamma correction feature of PNG images, IE actually shows this color as: 5cf696, which is the color you have to specify in order to get the filter to work. Unfortunately, this filter only works in Internet Explorer (the color change is specific to IE anyway) - but if anyone finds a way that also works with Firefox, Safari, etc., I'm all ears ![]()
