Default Restoring a "missing player

I accidently saved a game while my main character was "missing". Can I retrieve him and if so how

Where were you when he went missing? There are a couple of points in the game when characters can go missing, also if they're swallowed by a monster they can go missing but come back (possibly dead) when the battle is over so that's probably not your problem. I'm guessing you might have been in Marten's Bluff?

There are several incident that can make your character go missing.

- Swallowed by a monster, just wait for the battle to finish
- Kipnap by Crock, just go visit Crock at his hut in the swamp.
- Your mook character leave the party to visit mook hq in Arnika, find a safe place and rest.

what if the save was made beforwe the monster was killed and ran away and another save was made?

Sounds like you've hit a bug. If you didn't kill the monster, your character will eventually die. You can probably resurrect that character then.
