I went to the graveyard district for the fight with Bodhi. When I first step into the district Bodhi says some stuff, and Aerie says some stuff back. At the end she summons some vampires, and makes Aerie disappear. All of aeries stuff is on the ground, but it doesn't say if anyone did any spells on her. So I am just wondering if Aerie comes back later, or I should remove her from my party then talk to Bodhi, and then put her back in my party.

Firestormalpha, as this is obviously a part of the game that thecarrotdude has never seen, don't you think you should give him a chance to experience it? Easy rule to avoid unnecessarily spoiling people: Never answer a question that the original poster did not ask.
Ahem. Here, at least, is my answer: Thecarrotdude, if you want to play it safe, go back to your last save before re-entering the Graveyard, and make a Savegame in a different slot. This will be your backup. Then play through the encounter with Bodhi, and pay close attention when "Bodhi says some stuff" and "Aerie says some stuff back." This should answer your questions about why Aerie goes missing, and give you a fair idea of what to do next. The next section of the game is something of a mental challenge, and can be a bit hard to figure out, but the game does provide hints. If you have to give up, just go back to your backup Save, boot Aerie from the party, and play the Bodhi encounter without her. General note when booting people from the party: Some NPCs can get offended if you tell them that you don't want them around--even if you intend to come back & get them in 5 minutes--and they may never treat you the same again. In real life, you could soften the blow by telling them that it's only a brief hiatus, but the game doesn't give you that option. Therefore, you can justifiably use a loophole in that very same game engine: When you're only booting someone temporarily, it can be advisable to make them walk a good distance away from the rest of the party first. Then you Reform Party, and leave the area before the booted person can walk back to talk to you. Last edited by SixOfSpades; 03-01-2008 at 01:00 PM. Reason: Removed excessive snarkiness. |

My appologies I assumed that the spoiler tag in the title covered that. It would seem I was wrong.

When an OP says (spoilers) in the title, that usually means that his message contains potential spoilers, as thecarrotdude's does: The details of the Chapter 6 Bodhi encounter with certain Aerie-related complications. If the OP wants to be spoiled, they will usually say things like "What do I do now? I don't mind spoilers," or even "go ahead & spoil me."
But thank you for deleting your own message instead of letting a moderator do it--I think that shows maturity. I was half afraid that you would snap back at me for being an anal-retentive prig. But happily, this thread can remain relatively drama-free. Feel free to answer thecarrotdude again (particularly as I tend to be overly careful about spoilers, and perhaps too stingy with my answers as a result, so he'll probably want a second opinion). As long as you only provide direct answers to questions that the original poster actually asked, and you restrain yourself to oblique hints (that strongly resemble general good advice) for any related difficulties that the OP will certainly encounter, you pretty much can't go wrong. |

Thanks (Though I did read what firestormalpha wrote the first time, I'll try and pretend to figure it out myself. haha)

yeah, I kinda figured somebody (carrotdude or otherwise) had already read it, but better to prevent future incidents of unintentional spoilage.
I can be a little overzealous (understatement) in my information sharing at times.
