Do gnomes and halflings have pointed ears? Dwarves?
I'm thinking no for dwarves. And because they're the cousins of dwarves, maybe the same for gnomes...but I could see them being pointy-eared as they are more forest-oriented than dwarves. I think halflings probably do, as well as being free of facial hair like elves (all of the facial hair has moved down to their feet, I guess). |

In general... no. However, the halflings of Luiren (a halfling "nation" in the Forgotten Realms) have pointed ears (a recessive trait - if they marry with other halflings and have little halflings, their ears will not be pointed).
As for facial hair - I guess I have never seen a bearded halfling, but they sure do have bushy sideburns! (Seems contradictory - I have never seen a person with bushy sideburns who couldn't grow a beard!)

...come to think of it, I forgot all about the tallfellows and stouts - I think the stouts may be able to grow facial hair, while the tallfellows *might* even have pointed ears? (Just a guess here.) Will have to look up some sources...

Well, I haven't found anything talking about ears...I did find some "official" references to the sideburns, the extremely rare beards and the almost never seen mustaches for halflings. I'l keep looking...

Yeah... I remember something about beards/moustaches somewhere. I think it was for stouts...

Alright, I just read a description of halflings as having "round bellies and round ears".
On a sidenote, I did a google search and found that there are lots of companies selling "halfling ears" along with their stock of elf, orc and vampire ears. Those ears are pointy. ![]() |

Er... what is the difference with the halfling ears and elf ears then? (Just bigger and more pointy for the latter? ;D )

Pretty much. The images showed the elf ears being twice as long (or so) as a human ear and coming to very distinct points. The halfling ears were about half-way in between the two.

Er... Guess those ears are from Luiren halflings then?
