Default Lena and Samuel

And now for my latest trial...

I've collected Samuel from Lena and started running north for the Friendly Arm Inn.

I get there at (best try) 3 days 6 hours only to be told that he's dead.

I've checked out two walkthroughs and one says I have 10 hours to get there. The other says 3 hours (which I'm inclined to believe given the evidence).

Since I've tried half a dozen times and reached the Inn in a variety of different times (the worst being 16+ days!) I'm at a bit of a loss how to do it in less than 3 hours.

Any suggestions from you helpful folk?

Sorry, this might sound stupid but do you go there map-by-map? I'm asking this because when I played for the very first time I thought you can only go to adjacent map from a given map.

You can just go directly. Can't remember exactly how long the trip is but it should never take you that long (3 days). I never had problems with completing this quest.

I had the exact same problem as ZFR described. I always figured you could only travel map-by-map in an adjacent fashion. Which is logical, but not right. You can head from Nashkel to the Friendly Arm in one click while parousing the map.

In my experience, a direct click to the Friendly arm shouldn't make the journey more than a few days. Worst comes to worse, if this happens, just give Sam up, sad as it is.

Are you playing vanilla BG? Or do do you have the TotSC expansion installed?
I have never come across a time requirement when playing BG1/TotSC with all patches and fixpacks. So, what's your rig? And are you running any Mods?

Thank you all once again!

I tried zipping across the map as suggested and it worked first time! You all rock
