HOMM Web-based MMOG announced...
Saw this in a blurb on G4 (while watching Ninja Warrior)... Ubisoft is announcing a free online HOMM, called HOMM Kingdoms, to be released in the spring. Details here.
There's a new website for it at www.hommkingdoms.com ... looks like there will be a beta, and European purchasers of the complete HOMM set will get a beta key letting them in. Thoughts?

Thoughts are pretty good! I'm a huge fan of the series. I'm pretty disappointed with 5, but playing it anyway. I really don't do the online-multi-player thing at all, but I would be tempted to try this.
