Really enjoyed this movie, very exciting, similar in some ways to the first Narnia movie but very different. Loved the parallel universe concept, and the talking animals which are demons (this must be why the Vatican was up in harms since the creatures are not necessarily evil.)/shape shifter like creatures that have a bond with a human counterpart, when the human dies so does there demon not sure about the reverse but from the cutting it seems the humans just don't feel whole. The polar bear fight scene was awesome and would be enough to raise the age of children who you may wish to watch. Leaves off well for a sequel as well. I have not read the books so I cannot say how it compares or if they did a good job to get the overall feel of the authors work.

I'm going to watch it today (I hope the cinema is not full, it's a turn up and hope for the best one, can't book). I'm really looking forward to it. I really liked the books so I hope the film lives up to what I expect. I was left a bit dissipointed by the first HP film as I had huge expectations of it!
And any film that annoys religion can't be bad ![]()

I have to say I did enjoy the film, I didn't go in with my expections to high (after all the book is superbly written) I knew the film script could not match the book and a lot would be missed out. I did enjoy it, looking forward to the next one!

It is a very good film. Different from the book of course, but very well done.

If you have the time Wellard I'd suggest reading the books, they are much better!
