No more SPAM

OK a really strange thing happened. I stopped receicing any SPAM. After the 25th of Decemeber I haven't received a single spam email. And before I used to receive and average of 7 per day, sometimes up to 15.

I haven't switched on any additional Spam filter. Before I used to have it to send SPAM to a spam folder. Never to delete it. Now I switched off even that.

And besides even before around 15% of spam used to bypass the filter and end up in inbox anyway.
I mean, it has been more that 2 weeks!! Not a single spam.

I know I should be happy, but I'm just paranoid I'm not receiving some email I'm meant to receive.

Has anyone else been experiencing this?

I've actually had a bit more spam making it's way through my Gmail's filter on this side of Christmas, could be either some filters got an update or some crappy spam servers couldn't deal with some of the date changes, thereby accounting for you receiving less.

I wouldn't have minded receiving less. I'm receiving none. It's like youre receiving several per day, and then one day stop, and not a single one since then.

And as for filter update... I have it switched off any filters, so I can't see how it was caused by that.

Since I got Gmail I haven't gotten any spam ever again. But then, I use a junk email for signing up for stuff etc

The spam has been gone for me for quite some time, or it was filtered out and put in some sort of spambox, but since a month or two i'm getting the whole enchilada again, penisenlargements, casino adds, real estate, porn adds, even those f@c#*n* Nigerian scamartists are back. Where does all that crap even come from ? And why doesn't my spamfilter sort things out anymore ?

I'm finding that it tends to go in cycles. I get a lot, mark it as spam, GMail's filter figures out it is, I get nothing for a while, spammers change tactics slightly, minor wave, I mark it as spam, the filter figures out the new tactic, etc. etc. etc.

Could be your ISP has set up a new SPAM filter on their mail servers so its not reaching you. Alot of ISPS are loading this on now days

No, what it is, is that the Asian fiber cable was cut because of that earthquake, and even now that its back, its slow as hell, and not working right.

These days, most spam comes from Asia--so do most all Internet DOS Attacks and Hacking attempts. But since the USA and others have laws in place, everyone else does it.

Russia does it too I believe.

This is just a guess.. I noticed a slowdown too.

Actually a lot of the really major "spam kings" live in Russia and the US. Just a few months back, one of the "spam kings" was beaten to death in his apartment in Russia. No one was really sure why, though, either it was the spam or it was because of pedophilia rumours(That may eventually have been proven, I cannot recall the case that well.).

And I literally laughed out loud when I found out a spam king was beaten to death. Does that make me a bad person?
