There are 2, two hour shows/movies coming on Space channel at 8est tonight. Does anyone know much about these? I did find the site but wanted some input. It looks pretty good.

I watched it as a mini-series on Sci-Fi Channel here in the U.S. I really liked it myself.

It's based on the Earthsea series of novels (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Earthsea) and was very loosely adapted, it seem. Here's what the author had to say about it:

Quote:
I can only admire Mr [Executive Producer Robert] Halmi's imagination, but I wish he'd left mine alone... I wonder if the people who made the film of The Lord of the Rings had ended it with Frodo putting on the Ring and ruling happily ever after, and then claimed that that was what Tolkien "intended..." Would people think they'd been "very, very honest to the books?"

I saw the two part movie in Hallmark channel, the first part was nice and all, the second part was a bit lousy, especially how it ends.
