You forgot "Build your own!"

Barring that I would choose (if I *had* to ) Dell.

And while you're at it, a Sparc Ultra is a wonderful rendering workstation.

I agree with Night Stalker. Building your own system (or having a good buddy help you out) can easily be twice as cheap as buying a Dell or Gateway with the same hardware. But if I *had* to vote, I guess I'd have to go with Dell, mostly by default since I was very unsatified with Gateway when I got a computer from them, and the other computers out there are even worse IMO.

Out of those, Dell, but easily the best one of all is Voodoo Computers. They can ship 24" (!) screens, and they work 10 minutes drive away from me. If anyone has one, please tell me and I will come to your home and steal it.

I voted for Compaq, as I've had no problems with mine. They have had good support too. But, now Compaq is HP so who knows what will happen.

Id have to say dell. I have 3 dells, one of them is about 6 years old. It still works fine and I haven't had any problem with the other two. Their shipping and serive are great as well.

Alienware, Falcon, Voodoo... ANY of these. NONE of the ones on the list, they ALL use the most cheap parts, and a Dell 2.4Ghz and a Alienware 2.4Ghz machine side by side; benchmarked, Alienware's is MUCH faster.
