Here's a question for ya. How do you prefer your anime? Subbed or dubbed?

Easy for me. When the dubbing is good I like it dubbed. When the dubbed is bad i'll watch it subbed. Can't stand dubbed movies though.

I don't watch any anime so I'll answer simply for movies or TV shows. I prefer subtitles for the most part, especially for languages that I've tried to learn (helps me learn it better). My experience has been that they often change dialogue completely with dubbing, or use voices totally inappropriate with the characters. My only concession on this is the "Iron Chef" show. That show is funny because it is soooooo campy and because the dubbing is so awful. It wouldn't be nearly as humorous, I think, with subtitles.

You're darn right it wouldn't. When you have subtitles and english on at the same time, you're guaranteed for a laugh. On the screen it'll say "Hungry, hungry, hungry." Here's what you hear. "Man you guys should've come over for that hi-tech game of kick the can." That was from Cowboy Beebop!

Any language that I can understand I prefer subtitles, dubbing just ruins all jokes. No dubbing, no matter how good, can truly translate a joke from one language to another.

Ahh I hate dubbing. Even more so when It's been badly done! I think it was last week that I watched an old Jackie Chan movie. It had been dubbed so badly I was laughing my head off!

Subbed for me too. I simply cannot stand to see mouths and words not match.

Well gee this is pretty much set in subbings favor. I like my anime dubbed only when the words match, and the dubbing is well done. I really could care less about the jokes and such. I can't stand old Japanese/Chinese movies! The words never ever match!
