Anyone here into Anime (Japanese animation)? I was a fan of Anime from way back and actually prefer some of the "classics". Some of my favorites are:
Akira (the best, IMO) Fist of the North Star Lensman Castle of Cagliostro Princess Mononoke There's several others I like, but what about the rest of you? I know there's got to be some Anime fans out there. ![]() ![]() |

Hey Sazerac!
I not an anime nut but i do love the graphic style. "Akira" is good like you say. "Doomed Megalopolis" is one that I really enjoyed. Lot's of Black Magic! & Evil "The Dagger of Kamui" is one of the best. Another great one is "Nausica of the Valley of the Wind" it was done by the same guy(can't remember his name) who did Mononoke, this guy also did more of a kids movie but still a good one called "My Neighbour Totoro" it's pretty cool. Real style in his art that guy. |

I used to go to "Anime Night" every Wednesday night at a friend's dorm, but unfortunately, I don't remember a lot of them.
I did like Akira, Princess Mononoke, and Ghost in the Shell. Vampire Hunter D wasn't too bad, although it was almost like soft core porn in a lot of spots (although...a lot of anime is that way, I suppose). There is one that I really liked but cannot remember the name of. Basically, there was this guy that was trapped by some scientists and escaped. He could become an extremely powerful almost animal-like creature on a whim...he was blue....*grin* I know that doesn't tell much, but if anyone even has an inkling as to what movie this could be, I'd really appreciate your input! |

For an epic, Neon Genesis definetely
Vampire Hunter D for violence factor also Ninja Scroll Ranma for amusement and kiddy factor Akira i didn't really get so i don't know Ghost in the shell is pretty good as well. And for a little hanky panky... LA Blue girl or Urotsikodoji(sp) "the legend of the overfiend. ------------------ That's just my opinion, I could be wrong. |
