You can do anything with a fork, bar liquids. Stab, scoop, slice... It's a veritable multitensil!

You don't need a knife when you can cut with your fork, spoon or teeth too. If you can't cut it with your teeth, you probably don't want to be eating it anyway.

If he said "butter knife" I would have chosen fork, but since he was so vague I went with the knife. A knife is the most useful tool one can own.

Best: Fork - most versatile
Worst (least useful): Spoon - most things you need a spoon for you can drink anyway, and for the other things a fork works just as well.
