Let me begin this post by saying i'm lazy (unfortunate but true)

So i like the AI to do things for me. All my Fighters are set on the standard one, where they auto-acquire targets and go hack(or bludgeon) emto death. Un-fortunately, my mage scripts are not so kind. I have tried all of them and the only spells they will cast are the level 1 ones. If set to beserk, they cast all of their magic missiles, then pull their staff and go charging in.It is really annoying me!

BTW, i have SOA only and have installed both the official patch and baldurdash's fixpack.

Any help would be appreciated.

If you reconsider your laziness, go to the script compiler dir at the game installation directory, and there you'll see some script sources and a compiler, along with a pretty good README file. Read it, modify scripts at your own tastes, compile and enjoy

The problem arises because your mage does not have 'offensive' speels, the ones which are recognised as offensive by the writers of those humble default scripts. So, the best way is to rewrite a script yourself and make it fit your particular mage perfectly. The language is easy and understandible. Of course, it is the best way for me, cux I am a programmer

I suggest you download a script if you never scripted before.
Here are some good scripts:
Get the gSeries Scripts if you want a good SoA only script.

Get the eSeries Script if you want a good SoA+ToB script.

And I still insist on writing own scripts - this way you can customise the behavior of the mage fully and in your own manner, the one YOU prefer, not the writer who might have a completely different tactics. So, the best way is to do everything yourself, that is and always was my position...

I have never scripted before, but the idea of having a PRATI Mage AI script intrigues me.
