Paladin Stronhold Q (SPOILER)

What are the quests to win this stronghold?

I have already done the artist quest, the ring of Lathander quest and the fallen Paladin quest. What else do I need to do to win the stronghold?

It's like some bad movie: It turns out you haven't been doing paladin quests after all. To get the paladin stronghold, find the Lord in the Copper Coronet who needs help ridding his land, the Windspear Hills, of monsters. Go to the Windspear Hills and finish the quest there. When you're done, your path will become clear.

Caution: don't kill the big red baddie at Windspear Hills until you are asked to do so by the Order, or you won't be able to get your stronghold (if you can call it that).

Really.... I killed him. I got the stronghold with no problem. It's the paladin-like thing to do, no? Rid the world of evil.

Really? Hmm... I read somewhere that if your PC is a paladin, killing "Big Red" before the Order asks you to do so will mess up the quest. But what do I know? I've never played a paladin in SoA before.

Well then...

I guess I'll be going to the Windspear Hills soon (very soon).

Wow, Ch 2 & 3 have a TON of quests. This is my first time through the game so I'm trying to be thorough but it's getting pretty hard. My Paladin has yet to even go to the Windspear Hill, Umar Hills or Trademeet. Looks like its gonna take me forever to get to Ch 4.

Anyhow, just venting a bit of frustration. Don't get me wrong, I'm having fun. I just feel a bit overwhelmed this first time through.

Don't fret - things pick up real fast after Chaps 2 and 3. These chapters are definately the time to do almost all of the side quests.

I, too, killed Big Red before doing any of the official 'Paladin' quests, and still got my Stronghold with no problems. When in doubt, trust your own experiences over some stupid walkthrough.

All that happens is you never get the last Stronghold quest to get Carsomyr for the Order, which results in accolades and extra XP (and you get to keep the sword anyway). If you don't need the XP or the storyline, then don't worry.
