Oops... i just slaughtered a religion

it's like this, I entered one of hte temples in the temple district (directly east of the Helm temple). I walked around, and saw a safe! I went to it, lock picked it and opened it. That seemed to set off an alarm and everybody inside attacked me. So what happened next? All the guards and priests were slaughterd. Please tell me this won't effect the game *nervous chuckles*

You might lose reputation and a few quests are connected with the temple of Lathander but nothing too serious (unless you ARE a cleric of Lathander)

What did you expect, stealing from a temple?
And even when you get the Lathander Temple as a stronghold, some of the containers remain alarmed. Is that a bug? ::makes a mental note to download a patch one of these days, despite an archaic computer that would take several hours to DL one::

No it doesnt really hurt anything I usually slaughter temples after I do the quests when I am playing an evil character, the worst thing that can happen after you do the quests is losing reputation.

it's like that when i play Dungeons and Dragons. We had a party of three, faced with an ecampent of Kobolds.wot did i do? slaughtered the lot of em! not just the men, the women and children as well. but they attacked me! so ok, u were attacked, but were you rightto wipe out an ENTIRE religion?

You actually can completely loot all 3 Temples without getting caught, but you've gotta be oh so sneaky. Where's ULockItIStealIt? This sort of thing is right up his alley.

Well, after the initial two guards and the priest faced my bone daggers...more guards appeared as I was leaving so they died. Then the 4 guards outside guarding the doors attacked me... and they died. Where is their GOd now??? WUAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!
