In attempting the work around the disappearing Myles/Vi bug, I perhaps found an interesting new way to crash the game.

This will work with any NPC who's gained a level that you haven't yet "leveled up" on.

First, dismiss the NPC. Now recruit him, and then quickly dismiss him again before the "NPC gains a level" message displays. This will crash the game with the following revealing message:

ERROR: You are viewing a message intended for the developers of Wizardry 8. Please report the following information to technical support. We apologize for this inconvenience.

Debug assertion in module C:\Wiz8\Local Code\UtilityFunctions.cpp line 456 failed:

Expression [ pPc->flnParty] evaluates to false.

PCPtrToPCSlot: Error - called for non-party character

Cool, huh?

If anybody is successful in duplicating this bug, please let me know. As a matter of note, I was standing on the Arnika Road side of the border between Arnika Road and Arnika->Trynton Road.
