I don't want this to be a "my PC pwns yours" type of thread, but I am looking for a game to challenge, and at the momment F.E.A.R and X3 are the only ones that gets close, so i'm sure there are a few other games out there that can make a PC struggle, I just haven't seen them

So anyways, what games do you guys own that almost kill your PC and gets you mad?

My list consists of:
*F.E.A.R
*X3(though just barely)

AOE3 with all shadows+highest graphics. Doesn't kill it, but slows it down ALOT.

Darwinia, final level. Theres a minor bug in that level which means red DGs keep on spawning as long as you let them. That will cripple any PC, given time.

well my Pc got pentium4 2,8MHz prossessor , 1Gb memory.. ATI radeon 9800 128mb graphic card, and has the newest drivers, but still can`t play doom 3 on the best graphic qualities.... so i don`t know what to do to get the best quality?..

only thing i can do to play with the best graphics without the game crashes or going slow, is to set the graphics on normal and rest almost at the best/highest............. very irritating....

Hive - I'm right with you there with FEAR. I think the game is just badly optimised, since I can play at 1024x768 with everything maxed (except soft shadows which is a killer) and get a decent FPS. As soon as I start upping the resolution though the framerate just drops dramatically! I think to play above say 1280x960 we'd need SLI or something.

Bakrus - Doom 3 on ultra detail uses something like 500MB of textures, so with a 128MB card it's mostly going to be using system memory via the AGP aperture which will slow things down significantly. To play smoothly on Ultra you need a card with at least 256MB onboard memory to minisise the hit. Having said that, I can't really tell the difference between high and ultra.

I'm about to give GT Legends a go soon though and I bet that'll be quite taxing - especially now I have to pretty much run all my games in 1680x1050

Yeah, no offence, but your hardware isn't all that great these days, it's still ok, but nothing spectacular, only since my upgrade on the weekend have i been able to play it on maximum settings and keep above 50fps constantly.
