With this in stores today, I realized IW never made a forum or site for what was perhaps one of the best RPG games ever, KOTOR 1. Why for not? Will there be one for KOTOR2?

Probably because allthough it is very popular, the games that do have their own forum, are much bigger than KOTOR and can have much more done to them, as in Mods can be made much easier, and their fan base is much bigger....
Or something like that

I haven't bought either KotOR 1 or 2 yet, and since *I'm* the one who decides what forum to add and what not to, there is no such forum yet.

Well.. they are quite linear. I think any forums about these games would die an early death.

KotoR definitly is one of the best RPG's. And so is Planscape: Torment. And I would very much like to see a forum for it.

And I wouldn't, simply because there aren't enough people playing it. Baldur's Gate 2 is the only "1 game board" at Ironworks that has managed to draw enough people posting. All others haven't accomplished that feat, and, as far as I know, Knights of the Old Republic doesn't have a fanbase as large as Baldur's Gate 2.

Actually, I would think it would have more fans, since it's cross platform on the Xbox as well. Baldurs gate 2 forums draw from a more hardcore base of gamers, those willing to mod or apply mods to already great games. From what I've seen, there are also lots of mods out there for KOTOR 1 already, and people are still making them. Also, not to bag on BG or the infinity engine... it is 5+ years old, there's only so many times an engine can be hacked to pieces to do something new. With the KOTOR engine, you've got the actual 3rd edition rules already in place, and don't need to trick or force it to do new things regarding that. KOTOR has got a lot of otherwise casual gamers involved into more in depth and lengthy RPGs, and that's a good thing As far as linear gameplay... it's just as linear at BG is.. meaning i can do most of the game in any order i want, same as bg2.
