Possible spoiler
- - - - - - - - I'm in the caves after the catacombs. I've killed the group that attacks you when you first enter and I need to get out. What I need to know is if there si a way out that doesn't involve killing two greater basilisks? I've tried to get past them a lot of times but they keep killing me very quickly, on one occasion I did win but my entire party was destroyed. I REALLY need help. I haven't come this far to give up becasue of two basilisks. Any help will be much appreciated. |

My tactic here was to have my cleric cast 'animate dead' and lead the skeletons into the rooms with the basilisks, then get my party outside while the basilisks were concentrating on trying to paralyse my skeletons

. . . . . . . . . . Yeah, with ANY foe that is too tough for your character level, it is good to send in summoned 'troops' of any sort. It is also good for any team members that can to go into 'stealth' mode, and cast invisibility on anyone you have enough invisibility spells memorised for - at least that way you should get SOME of the team past the basilisks. ------------------ ![]() ![]() ![]() [This message has been edited by Fljotsdale (edited 07-20-2001).] |

You mean I have to fight them? Oh no. I really don't want anyone to die because everyone carries potions and items that I really don't want to lose. At least i have 2 wands of monster summoning and I found a place where I can rest without things attacking me so I can memmorise more spells.

Well skeletons are inmune to basilisks´ gaze so you can send them first and while the basilisks are engaging them take them out with ranged weapons and magic.

Never mind. I found that I could rest in the area just behind the caves so I memorised a load of invisibilty spells, drunk a load of potions and ran for it. On to the next problem...

Yes, skeletons work wonders,,,,but another great tactic against basilisks is a wand of fear. They really seem to be scared of it for some reason.........:S

I wish I'd known that before, I've got two wands of fear that I never use. it's probably about time I started.
