Demons freze game!

When ever i kill a certain type of demon, i think it is a Nabassu (not the smoke one that steals your rings, helms, amulets, potions, armour, weapons, scroll cases, gem bags, bags of holding and vertually everything ealse it can get its transparent little hands on but DOES NOT TAKE A SINGLE CHARGE FROM MY WANDS!!!) i mean the ones that have wings and look like a Balor. And when ever i kill either one of those or a greater wyvern the damn game takes me back to desktop! Eventually i had to cheat and summon a bunch of inprisonment scrolls and i really hate cheating (except for healing... and making monsters join your group, jumping from place to place, changing yuor armour class, changing your characters appearance, summoning dragons, summoning weapons i cant be botherd buying... you get the idea)
Anyway, does anyone have this problem or has had it and knows how to fix it?

its prob a bug, you can get the patch and it that doesnt work try re-installing it.

It sounds like some of the animation files (specifically, the ones that show a demon or wyvern either dead or dying) are either missing or corrupted. Xero was half right: If the problem is what I think it is, patching won't do a thing, but reinstalling should correct it. If it doesn't work, then that part on your CDs must be damaged, & you should try again with someone else's CDs.

Well i have allready gotten the baldurdash fix pack, and it did nothing. When ever i install the game about 5 different massages come up saying something couldant install so i suppose will have to try a friends BG2 discs. Thanks for the help.

Not more then 3-4 weeks ago. I just baught BG and plan to go through the WHOLE story line with a fallen paladin(i killed one to many commoners).
