I was in the De'Arnise when it told me that I had to pay my dues to Renal. I tried to leave the way I came in, but there isn't a door! I've gone around the room and I can't get out the way I came in! How do I get out?

You can also go out one of the front doors, on the southern (or SE) side of the ground floor. You may have to open the drawbridge first, though, and be prepared for a battle!

Also, you don't need to drop everything & go pay your dues right away--it's not an emergency. The game understands that you're a busy fellow with lots to do, so your "Thief Guild membership fees are due" messages will pop up promptly every week, but you won't get in trouble for being Late for another 2-3 days. So if you need to Rest in the de'Arnise Keep to replenish your spells, go ahead & do it--but keep an eye on your clock, and mind that 20-hour Travel Time.

Isn't it 20 hours going to De'Arnise, but only 8 hours back to Athkatla?? And why IS that, I wonder? Where do the extra 12 hours go? Maybe you rent a carriage from De'Arnise, I dunno!

Maybe De'Arnise is on a hill. It would make sense, from a strategic point of view, so when they go back to Athkatla, they roll down the hill, greatly reducing travelling time at the expense of a few bruises and broken bones, but hey! This is AD&D, nothing a Cure Light Wounds will not fix.

Dundee, are you going through some sort of identity crisis? I'd barely gotten used to your being Bast, that Egyptian cat goddess, when you suddenly turned into a G.I. Joe, and now you're some kind of Jester/Monk Dreadnoks skull. Meanwhile, I've been staring at these dumb little 4 green bells for months now.....

Those aren't bells, they're Emeralds.

I dunno myself. It just keeps on changing. I think the transition at the higher ranks is very low.
