I figured this'd be a much better topic than the dilbert one:

I HATE!
-Between Friends (waaaah! I'm stressed, I'm fat, I'm stressed, I'm fat, ad infinitum)
-Rex Morgan MD (Does anything *ever* happen in this strip?)

Serious cartoons that have grown up humour about life and not the enjoyable humour in cartoons like Garfield. Cartoons like "For better or for worse" are so amazingly boring to me that I start baging. Although I do like The Phantom.

Boondocks is fantastic, it's biting, funny and relevent. a difficult combination in any artistic pursuit, nevermind comics. he doesn't hate america(in fact i'd say he loves it's more than all those people say "wow isn't everything perfect in America, let's have a party and tell the rest of the world how much better than them we are." I'm damn patriotic but I know we need to strive for improvement)

This is why many comic strip creators need to do what Bill Waterson and Berkeley Breathed did--retire their strips before the quality drops too low. Believe me, I wish "Calvin & Hobbes" and "Bloom County" were still around....

hmm, no one's mentioned webcomics, so how about LWIBH (look what I brought Home) and Kevin and Kell (www.herdthinners.com) K&K is as bad as Family Circus, and LWIBH is so bad it's not even worth finding out how bad

And I can't forget the one newspaper comic i abhorred, Sally Forth (it replaced Calvin and Hobbes in my local paper, back in the day)
