Got it in April, and just after I posted that 'Married' post, the PC locked up, then I got a full screen of ASCII (all colors and some flashing)..

I gulped.

Open the case, and pull the card, then I put in a ATI Rad 7800 and everything is fine.
I figure that it overheated, because the 2 INTAKE fans in the front had a BUNCH of dust and CHOC hair cloged on the grill.

And I dust the inside off every MONTH, and JUST did it like 3 weeks ago.
Thank GOD this PC is still under warrenty (I have an Alienware PC). So the card will be replaced, but DANG!

Word to EVERYONE: DUST YOUR PC OUT! Make sure you keep the insides clean. I take a soft brush paint brush as well, and wipe the cards off.
Sucks, but I am lucky it's covered.

Just a warning.. if you have a powerful video card and Processor, dust!!!

Yikes! Jim keeps telling me he cleans his out frequently and he nearly choked when he heard I'd never done it in 3 yrs... It WAS dusty in there but not as bad as I thought it would be! Good thing you still have the warranty time!

Sorry to hear about that Z!

I28MB graphic cards They must cost a heap of money!

Luckily I have an 8MB Voodoo 2. No overheating for me

Yowsers! Choc strikes in devious ways! Try getting an air filter at a hardware store. It will reduce air flow slightly but will greatly keep the fur down! You may need to cut to size.

Can you say, HEPA filter? A clean home is an allergy free home and good for the PC too!
