Great we now have topics from music of the eighties and sixties, cars from the fifties, so i'm thinking of starting one about beautifull women of the twenties !

I guess if I were to start talking about my 1955 Corvette it would be considered teasing. I know Epona's seen back in a thread I posted a while back.
Yep, 50's rock, but 60's rule! The 50's cars were great for style but underpowered. Now the late 60's! No gas crunch, big block engines. I much prefer my GTO to the vette just because of the sheer power that it puts to the ground.
Of course there is something to be said abouyt a group of babes gathered around my vette gawking at it. Like they'd ever get a chance to be in it!!! LOL

Now, Animal, if you put a 60's engine in a 50's car....that would be the ultimate!

Gimme a break, a 60's engine in a 50's car?????? You'd split the car apart (Trust me I've tried.) The 50's was about style and cruisin'. My '55 Vette won't hold a candle to my GTO on the strip, but it's a head turner when cruising real slow along the beach. Now for a smoke show, take the 455 in my GTO with dual four barrels drop the clutch in first at about 6000RPM and hang on! It'll grab rubber all the way through till fourth (Of course replacing tires every secong month is getting a little expensive, and we won't even discuss the attention it gets from the local police!)

I wonder why it'd grab the polices attention. But the 60's cars look so...boxy and beastly!

Boxy and beastly??!!!?

Have you seen the new cars? The Echo or what about the Ford Focus? The 60's was the muscle era before smog and emissions controls. You just don't see that kind of unabashed power and brute force anymore. Next time your on Vancouver Island, Sir G., I'll take you for a rip in my GTO. You'll change your tune pretty fast. LOL
