Question Mark

The news story, as bizarre as it might be, may be found here.

Quote:
from the article:
ROANOKE, Va. -- Wal-Mart has ditched a program that helped single shoppers find love in the discount store's aisles.

Officials at Wal-Mart headquarters in Bentonville, Ark., ordered their Roanoke store to put an end to Singles Shopping, the only program of its kind at Wal-Mart's U.S. stores.

Taking a cue from Wal-Marts in Germany, the month-old program encouraged customers on Friday evenings to pick up a red bow they could place on their shopping carts as an invitation to other singles. "Flirt points" were set up in various sections of the store.
Do we really want to pick up "deep discount" singles?

Of course, there are several questions remaining to be asked. The most important of these is: if you could shop for a single at Wal-Mart, were there "fitting rooms" where you could try them out before buying them?

Does this mean I can take 3, but only pay for 2?

I wonder what they have in the bargain bin.

Think of what walks out alone after "last call" at a bar, except you're still sober and the lights are brighter...

There are singles shopping days and programs just like this at fauncy shopping markets here in Chicago. If rural America wants to do the same things and have the same perks as urban hipsters, why shouldn't they?

ROTFL! So what do you find in the seasonal aisle? Bathing suit and speedo competitions?

You guys laugh all you want, but for S-M-R-T single guys out there I have some sage advice, learned from the wisdom only one who's married can impart.

If you want to find the girl you might want to keep, stay away from bars and look elsewhere - period. Where? Easy:
- Bed Bath and Beyond, or Linens and Things, any time before dinner on weekend days.
- A book store - esp. the big chains - between 7 and 9 on any day.

Veritable gold mines, I tell ya. But it may tell us why these shopping days are a success around here. They're targeting people who want a mate, not a hookup.

Or, you can meet your mate like I did. Let the animal rights chicks throw a vegan Thanksgiving at your place, and she just may show up on your doorstep.
