Well in my local library/book shops they all come under sci-fi, however I'l go fantasy as it is a more appropriate title for the sort of books I read IMO.

Fantasy, even though they are basically the same thing, it's just the settings that may be different. I'd use Mc Caffery's The Dragonriders of Pern as an example.
