I usually only use smilies to defang funny remarks that could be misunderstood ( ).

The far majority of my posts are completely smiley-free.

As most of my posts are in the BG2-forum, where I usually help out people or add stuff to what's been already said, I usually ends my posts with a ' '. In most of my other posts, I end the message with a ' '.
So I belong to the category 1-2 smilies per post.

Did you know that 8 is the current max. of smilies per post? People should post dogs instead.

As many as I need! Most posts only require a few, 3 or 4. I don't do long lines of the same smilie. But if it's a long post, sometimes you need as many as is allowed! Last year in my birthday thread I had to make 3 different posts thanking people so I could use enough smilies

Antryg you really ought to check those dogs in Opera. They run like the wind to say the least. LOL!

OK my smiley use is extensive. I think I average 5 or 6 per post. But in some posts I know I must have been way over 15.

As for which ones I use. Well almost everyone.

Depends on the length and the nature of the post.
