After a successful war in Iraq should this areas borders be redrawn? Pencil in a Kurdistan and a fair bit north of Baghdad and every thing to the south remains Iraq?

If it is decided that this should be done in Iraq.. Does that justify or move towards redrawing the map (and all that goes with that) in Africa? In Asia?

Pencil in a country here, rhetoricize a new ethnicity there. Short-term solutions to long-term problems. This violent nationalism and obsession with 'homeland' has people going off to shoot one another without a real, firm grasp over just what the @#!$ it is that they are fighting for. Most definitions of 'nation' are riddled with holes and imperfections. Get rid of this detrimental and outmoded political system and start fresh.

If so - how much of Iran and Turkey should be included?

The Kurds may get atonomy within the borders of Iraq, but not independence - It would set a 'bad' presedence.

What is starting fresh? you talk of outmoded and detrimental.. but you don't offer any solutions... or alternatives..
edits> And what is the long term problem that short term solutions are but a finger in a hole in a dam kind of problem.. simply stated: What is the problem?

Turkey would have to give up some land.. but many Turkish Kurds would doubtless be forced to relocate.

Let 'wherever' self-destruct and move onto somewhere new.

the problem is people being of such mind as to kill for the sake of disagreement. Whether it be of religious, national, political differences. Whatever.
Being of the desire to kill for one's beliefs is not something I agree with, but I will not kill anyone who says otherwise...
