So should we get rid of it? Is it a worthy thing? Is it discriminatory? Does it fall into the same category as Black history month? Is your view of Women's history month different than of black history month?

Am I asking too many questions?

Yes let's get rid off it. Women's history should be taught every year along with the "regular" history.

Johnny, I see you're already a master of discrimination.

Yes that was a joke. But don't tell johnny. LOL

Wouldn't be easier to just get rid of history all together?

I think women's history is sufficiently incorporated into regular history. I recognize that general history classes often leave out a lot of black history, but I don't think this is as true with women's history. I also think that in the corporate world, the descriminatory line between men and women has basically been sundered. I know chauvanistic exceptions exist, but I'm speaking generally. I think women have by and large broken the glass ceilings. We'll know for sure when the Clinton '08 or Rice '08 campaign rolls around, I guess.

And, Willow, make me a sandwich.

(oh, and you MISSED TTD!!!!! )

Menstration

Menangitis
Mental Illness

All of women's problems start with men ....

I don't think that a Special Month is needed for every possible class of citizen in this country. All history should be ignored! That way when it repeats, we can experience it first hand!

Oh, and Willow, while you're up ...... get me a beer.

Well, then I demand SEPERATE Irish-American and German-American history months. I'd also like Reparation money from the government for the suffering my Irish canal-building ancestors suffered.

First, it's Women's Herstory Month (which even I think is a bit extreme... It's just a coincidence that "History" starts with "His" but I digress)

What's important is the fact that for more or less the rest of the year you hear men in history being celebrated and rarely women, except for a few token figures (Rosa Parks is one... She gets triple coverage. But I digress again. How about Betsy Ross? God, give me a break. How pathetic. And FDR was great, sure, but his wife gets almost no press besides)

I guess it's just that men in history seem to get all the coverage. It's important to remember that there were many great women as well.

If you go to high school, chances are they shove famous women down your throat this month. If you go to college, stop by a program. Make a mental note of several names and see if you ever hear of them the rest of the year.
