The golem that you are supposed to get a key from will not speak to me. the game says that the golem appears busy. How do I do it?

This usually means that you still have an open dialogue with someone else, or maybe there's a combat spell you cast that hasn't ended yet. Dialogue will only initiate if you're not in a combat situation.
Try waiting for a while, or sleeping. Then talk to him again. If it still doesn't work, you may want to patch your game. Download the BG2 patch at www.bioware.com.

IF you are getting the "golem busy" dialong, chances are that you need a patch from bioware. If you have installed TOB and no patch, you'll get that problem. If you haven't installed TOB, install the latest patch for SoA anyway. It will probably fix your problem. If it doesn't, you are doing something else wrong.

hes running XP most likely i had the same problem when i was running XP. but yeah i think there is a patch for it
