Israeli intelligence has identified what are believed to be Iraqi weapons of mass destruction goods in Hezbollah-controlled Lebanon, U.S. officials said.

The Israelis used a spy satellite to photograph several tractor-trailer loads of suspected weapons into the Bekaa Valley, where the Islamist terrorist group is based.

Shipments there began in early January and ended the first week of March.

According to Israeli intelligence, Saddam paid Syrian leader Bashar Assad $35 million to hide the weapons.

Meanwhile, Hezbollah, which enjoys backing from both Syria and Iran, now has an estimated 12,000 Katyusha rockets to use against northern Israel. The terrorist group also has anti-aircraft guns and sophisticated communications systems.

I dont know...I haven't heard anything anything about it anywhere else, but I hope Israel's intellegnece is right on this one.

Well, it'll be good for Bush and the US if these reports are true.

Question Mark

Come on now. Do you really beleive that Israel who does have spy satellites, would just sit on their laurals and watch. Nay, there would have been unexplained explosions where this convoy was spotted. Just because Israel is over there, don't under estimate their military capabilities.
I think this is a farce.

Personally, I think that Israel is desperate to have the entire region 'subdued' and is hopeful that the US will either do it for them or back them if they do it themselves.

I am also strongly suspicious that the car bomb that blew up a Hezbollah official this month was the work of the same 'Israeli intelligence' who were deliberately trying to scupper the peace-process by inviting retaliatory attacks.

I totally agree with you Felix. If the Israelis spotted WoMDs moving into Lebanon we could probably be pretty sure that Lebanon would cease to exist very rapidly. And after that Syria would probably also lie in ruins, no matter what the US, or any other country, say.

I agree with WillowIX and Felix. Lebanon would no longer exist, at all. Sounds to me like a PR move. Israel, if it actually felt threatened by Lebanese WOMD, would have no problem (justifiably) walking in and opening a can. I don't think that all that Israel would do was sit back and wait for international action.
