Firkagg in Windspire hills is tough, but do you have to beat him. he offers to let you go and take the brat with ya. what happens if you do wimp out and leave? are there any reprocusions. im not strong enough to beat him and read somewhere you dont have to.

you don't have to beat him, but if your main character is a paladin part of your stronghold quest is to let him go there and then to go to the radiant heart and start the stronghold.

He is easy on the higher levels. Just get out of there (unless your main is paladin) and retur before you is about to face Irenicus a last time

But when you do beat him as a paladin you gain some more innate powers, Does anyone else get this?

Yes, caersomyr (two handed sword +5) is a nasty one if you're an enemy. It gets better in ToB.

What powers do you gain by killing him
I'm a pally and killed him but didnt seem to get any powers
just stuff from the stronghold

Nothing exciting, just some more Detect Evils and Protection from Evils. They wrote this in so that, if your Paladin is Fallen, you can erase the Fallen status by fulfilling all the stronghold quests and becoming a member of the Order. The same is true for Rangers, or so I hear.

Yeah, i think that it gets +6, but what changes are made in the sword, its just that i heard of +6 but i never got it.
