With all these Lord of the Ring-talks lately, I have started to observe the names on the different characters.
And I have found out that there are two here on IW who has taken one of their names; Legolas and Aragorn.
Does anybody know of any more?

see ya!

No, but I'm considering changing my name to Elron (wise) or Boromir (as dumb as it can get). I haven't decided which one suits me better yet!

You are aware that you can't change your name anymore, Ryanamur
Just checking..
And as for the LOTR names, I think there's a newbie called Gandalf..
I might be wrong though

There are lots. Gil-Galad, Mithrandir, Galadria (sort of), Sauron, Thorin Oakenshield, Isildur Elendil, I just can't remember the rest but I know I've seen them. Awesome names, though.

Yes, Tolkien sure knew how to pick them

There is a collection of striders and aragorns here, I think. Though a good deal are no longer active.

I have yet to find my dwarven friend Gimli though.

It would be great if someone called Gimli joined and you two were made great friends. .

Oh yes I can, all I have to do is to change my IP ... but I won't do that, Ryanamur sounds Rohirrim enough for me. That's where the name's from (me playing MERP a long, long time ago )

Strider is also a name from Tolkien, I believe... (Aragorn before people knew he was Aragorn, in the Fellowship of the Ring, I think).

I have just read the book "Shannaras sword" by Terry Brooks. A very good book, but not Tolkien-good. There are also many great names there.
But one thing that surprises me, is that none have registered as Bilbo, or Frodo.

see ya!
