When you cast sanctuary to loot in the Golem room, should you keep your other characters out of sight? Once I started taking things (with Sanctuary cast), my other party members started seeing the golems (I have it on auto pause when an enemy is sighted) and then the golems went after the guys (and ladies) outside the door. Is having other party members in sight of the golems the problem, or did I maybe do something else wrong?

Well obviously. Keep them in Auntys room and you go loot the stuff.

Thanks for help with the obvious that I obviously missed. That thing where it says something about 2 golems coming to life and attacking me kind of had me confused because it never happened.. but when they saw my other characters, they attacked.. so I thought maybe if my other characters weren't there, they'd be attacking me instead, so that's why I questioned my sanctuary spell. When I did it with the party out of sight, it still said the golems came to life and attacked, but they were really just standing there doing nothing. And thanks for the welcome! I don't know what took me so long to buy this game.. probably because my old computer was crap, and I'm a busy gal.. but lately I've found myself "forgetting" to go to bed or practice pieces for the orchestra I play with (WOOPS!) because the game is just more fun. It reminds me so much of the Bard's Tale series, but the character customization is just TOO incredible in BG2.

I don't like those golems, they're annoying.. =\
I know what you mean, Eowyn, I just got yelled at for playing the game too much. Eh, my dad never gets yelled at for playing the game. ![]()

If you have the Boots of Speed (and/or a Haste spell) you can run really fast into the room, steal the mace piece, and leave, and the Golems won't be able to fit through the doorway.

Just surround a golem with all your party member and attack it. As long as you don't take the item the other golems won't react. So you can kill them all one after another.

I usually just hasted someone or used Boots of Speed to grab the item or run out, but the last time, I just hacked up each of the Golems one by one until only the Iron Golem was left standing, took the item, and ran out. The Iron Golem can't chase after me. Is there anyway to kill the Iron Golem?

Welcome aboard Eowyn, and welcome to a life of never getting anything done What I do with those golems is kill them one at a time. The thing with golems is that they have very specific instructions. such as "kill anyone who takes my stuff". Those instructions say nothing about "kill anyone who attacks the other golems. So you can attack one (he will fight back), but the others will stand there with their clay thumbs up their clay holes.

Welcome Eowyn. In one battle, Jahera (or her wood nymph) managed to charm one of the golems. It killed one and put a second near death before dying - if I had been quicker, I might have healed it and gone for a third.
