We are looking for people who want to join in a series of interlocking RPGs loosely based on D&D. You don’t really need a detailed knowledge of the rules or of the Forgotten Realms to join in. These games would be mainly co-operative interactive – i.e. all the posters would gradually build the story together. There may be some games where there is a DM leading the story if people would prefer that.
The games will lean much more to character interaction and development than to action - just by the very nature of free flowing posting games, however blood will definitely flow! I know there are many games like this around but this one is a little different. The game is being written by an experienced writer, who specialises in weaving new worlds and environments. There will be DM led threads if people want them. There is also a well-designed coherent setting for the game with many NPCs. Last but not least there is a designated helper and adviser, kiwidoc. If you feel a little nervous, as you have never played like this before - don’t worry. kiwidoc who is a very experienced player and DM will help you out as much as you need, and there will be plenty of chances for discussion. All you need is a good imagination, a lively sense of humour and a willingness to try new things. This reminds me of something I was going to ask of Mem and Zir, I was going to ask if we could have an RP forum for people who want to do things like have Pillow Fights or run BG2 Bars, I've been on a few other BB's who have RP forums, and they usually have quite a bit of attention and are a good place to have fun.

Neb, that's been done already!
Kiwidoc, It sounds fascinating! Is it online? As in realtime? Being as how we have really bad time differential (east coast us here!) I'm wondering how that would work. I'm not up on d*d rules either...sigh. Only games I've done are the crpg's BG2 and IWD. Still I'm interested in hearing more! The game is NOT based on rounds or turns - you just post when you can. It won't be a strict by the rules set up and at any one time there will be a few "quests" you can join. Some quests or threads will lead by a DM or narrator, others we will make up as we go. This kind of game suits people who can post sometimes but not others, and who live in different time zones. There is a lot of help for people new to free flow games and/or to D&D - in the "How the hell do I do that desk.
Drop in - read some of the set up and help forums, and see what you think. Feel free to ask any questions. My email is jude@judyhope.co.uk ------------------ There is only one kiwidoc, accept no substitutes STANDARD OPERATING PROCEEDURE |

Thanks, kiwi, and for the help you gave me on MSN. I have downloaded Gozilla so I can get the character generator (which I shall do tonight). Will join in as soon as I am able

Hey Cloudbringer are you a bard as well. This particular bard doesn't like to dabble a smuch as throw herself in whole heartedly. The gamne itself takes place in several forums because at any one time there will be more than one quest happening. Check the Quest Recruitment forum. Most things start in the Inn.
If you cant "quest" feel free to wander around the tavern and the town interacting with the characters and NPCs. Rude Dawg - no need to contact anyone. Just lurk, look and whe nyo ufeel like it add a character or two. We will be kicking off a "get your feet wet" quest which will be steered rather than make-it-up-as-we-go soon. It will be aimed at helping people new to this kind of game. If you want to join that add a low level bod fast and sign in on the Quest Recruitment forum ------------------ There is only one kiwidoc, accept no substitutes STANDARD OPERATING PROCEEDURE www.judyhope.co.uk [This message has been edited by kiwidoc (edited 06-02-2001).] |
