I let the idiot turn undead as I've heard that he should be hardcore against vampires.
You must be joking. I turned him undead and attacked the vampires. Great. The wuzz left undead and got smacked in 2 seconds. Maybe I've done something wrong or Anomen is just the biggest wuzz in this game. |

Turning undead works just like the
"invisibility"-spell. Once turned on, you can only walk around ... attacking or opening doors and such will disable the turning. Every round, when turning undead, it rolls your value against the type of undead creature ... Three effects are possible with anomen: - absolutely nothing - undead panics and flees - undead explodes in to several pieces ( the last of which requires a rather high level character, for vampires) hope it helpz (p.s. a kinda cheesy tactic, is to Make anomen invisible, let him turn undead and walk around the vampires unnoticed. They'll all die, if he's high enough level, but will never notice him ... another nice combo is -blade barrier / sanctuary )

I agree, combining any form of invisibility with an attack is incredibly unrealistic. A fellow poster on this board described vampire's reactions as: "Hey, do you hear that chanting? Aaaaargh..." What, are they just supposed to stand there and not to anything until they die? Cheep! Cheep!
Be a man--Look them in the eye (or at least run away slowly) while Turning Undead. It's actually very powerful at Level 15 and up--I've destroyed Vampires, Turned Liches, all that good stuff. The very best are Devil Shades (I think that's what they were), because when they explode, they spawn a pair of Shadow Fiends, which of course explode 1 second later. Kablooie! Jan, your complaint seems to be "The wuzz left undead and got smacked in 2 seconds." Don't let his AI tell him to attack the vampires instead, just change or turn off his AI for the time being. What level is his Turn Undead?

Anomen's turn undead gets better with every level he recieves. At level 15, I've had him turn liches, sometimes even explode them. It's not good at first, turn undead isn't ever good at first. With every NPC, you have to advance them past level 15 to get better results. Which sucks for Aerie if you have SOA only and not TOB, since she only goes up to 15 on both her classes, and can't go any further. [ 04-10-2002, 04:08 PM: Message edited by: Jerr Conner ]
