About 5 minutes after I start playing, a message comes up saying that Baldurs Gate 2 is extremely low on memory and should quit applications to get more memory. So I quit the game and look to see how much memory is left without Baldurs Gate 2 playing, and it is at 100 someod MB. So I decided to see what it is at when playing the game. I opened it up again and it came out to 40 MB left and it still came up with that dumb message. I cant do anything without it being painfully slow, so I am really frustrated right now. If anyone can help me please do!!!! Just so you know, I have a mac.

Hiya

Have you upped the allocation in your application?

command y (apple y)

allocate as much as you can allowing for system stuff

or put it on virtual memory so it will take RAM from your hard drive allocation

Or

dump your cache

go into the data and dump whats in cache and also in your tempory file

Maybe that will help

Sorry

If you click on your Baldur's gate application and thenpress apple key and y (key next to your space bar) it should bring up a screen that tells you a bit of information about your application. Click on memory and see what the preferred size is and actual size is and up it to whatever you can allowing for the RAM the system takes.

Alternatively, if you go into your control panels and look for memory panel, bring that up and see if it has virtual memory on. If is hasn't change it to virtual memory, but you will need a restart before it takes effect

Thirdly

Go into your Baldur's Gate folder and look for the data folder, inside that you should have a folder called Cache

It is safe to dump all the cache in the trash because all it is is your location maps. It you go to a part of the map again, it will just get it again for you.

If your cache folder really really fills up this can cause problems because it doesnt flush itself out.

There is also a temporary folder in here too, it is safe to dump what is in the folder as well

Dont dump the folders, just the contents

I hope that helps

Hi goulem

My mistake

The cache folder is in the same place as the data folder. Open up the cache folder and there is a folder called data inside.

Just empty that folder
