well I finally got my new system and spent 5 hrs loading Disks
on it. So far only one game and that's Guildwars.
I desided to go to bed but wanted my first new Bookmark to be
Ironworks. I typed in the url and Bam the main page was loaded
and wow the colors and details look 100 Times better than they
did on my other two pent 4 computers. This ATI Radeon X1600XT
video card makes my ATI 9600Pro and my ATI 9800Pro look like
2D. On Guild Wars The graphics were insane, Never did I dream
this card would make such a difference. So now 3 more day and
I'll have Oblivion loaded and wandering the living world will
take on a whole new meaning.
Tomarrow after work I'll finish loading all my programs and this
weekend I'll load a dozen of my newest and best games and copy
the save games from My other computer.
I feel like a kid at christmas and I'm loving it.
Bring on Oblivion

I don't think you'll have any problem.
One thing is I think you said you had the
ATI X1800XTX make sure to "NOT" use the
drivers that come with the card but go to
the Radion Driver page and down load the
newest set of drivers for it.

They are as follows:
1) dotnetfx
2) 6-3_encoder_30895
3) 6-3_xp-2k_dd_ccc_wdm_enu_30895

These are the newest ATI CATALYST control Center
Drivers that came out on March 8, 2006 and believe
me they make more difference than you will believe
to your viewing pleasure.
I saw the difference yesterday when I got the
system My disc that came with the X1600XT had the
6.2 Drivers on it and robert told me to down load
these new 6.3 Drivers designed for the X1900XTX
and for all the X1000 series Video accelerators.
But if anyone reading this doesn't have the X1000
series then don't use these drivers your cards
can't handle these drivers use the 6.1.1 drivers
made for X300 to X850XP pro.
Have fun Hivetyrant to bad Oblivion isn't multi-player
this game is going to ROCK.

I Had the Omega drivers installed they ain't
worth a crap compaired to the 6.3 Drivers The Omega
drivers are now out dated in compairson to the new
6.3 that Radeon made to replace them try them you'll
see what I mean and if you really think the slow Omega is
better you can always change back. From what I've
seen of the 2, The Omega is for woosey boys with only
1/3 the options and performance of the 6.3.

True, they are outdated, but the benchmarks (both synthetic and in-game) still prove them to be slightly better, plus the ATI drivers for the X1900XTX aint great yet.

Only problem with ATI is the compatibility problems with some games. They seem to have issues with fog-effects and atmospheric blurs. This isn't just one game this is a few I have seen, and the patchnotes will advise ATI users to diable those effects until ATI release a new driver or not use them at all, ever. This is why I stick with Nvidia personally.

Sprit I own over 500 PC games and have never
ever had this problem. This is a rumor created
in some forum argument. I wish I could find the
news report to prove it to you, But I own a number
of different computers none as powerful as my
newest but I own a pent 4 2.4Ghz with a nVidia
5900 and a pent4 2.4Ghz with a ATI 9600pro and
the 2 are rated pretty much the same. There isn't
any visual difference with them setting next to
each other with the same games loaded on each.
Both of these computer Were gifts to my son from
me so his friends as well as myself can play
different games together on one of my internal
networks that we set up in his room.
My son and I use to go around and around about
ATI & Nvidia and we both came to the conclusion
that the best card is the one you have at the
time and when you put one next to another that
are made by different companies with similar
stats it all boils down to which one you think
is best.
As far as Compatability problems Both have these
same so called problems such as the ones in guild
wars where the game was designed with all ATI
equipment many nVidia card didn't function well
at all in the game until a patch was made for
nVidia cards. Call of Duty had the same type
problems with nVidia cards when it first came out.
So it really doesn't matter what game your playing
There are conflicts with every video card, every
Microprocessor and every sound card no mater who
makes them. You need to over come them and use
what ever equipment you can afford or which ever
you prefer to use and if you like one use it but
I'm really tired of all the bull crap about one
computer componet being beter than another because
for every fault you can find with someone's
equipment they, can in turn find fault with yours.
So what it all boils down to is who gives a flying
monkey fart whos is best, if it work for you then
use the damn thing no mater what the reason is.
I use ATI for one reason: It works for me and I've
never ever had a problem with then and the nVidia
Cards I own I've never ever had any problem with
them eighter I just like the Name "ATI Radeon"
and that's really the only reason I buy them over
nVidia! Oh and the fact that nVidia sounds more
like an Orange juice drink than a video card maker.
