I'm was out looking for a new game to play and was looking at both EQ2 and WoW.
I have a new pc ordered and it should be here soon that will allow me to finally play anything I want (for now) lol..
My question is this. I never played Eq or any of the warcraft series, but I've played a TON of other games similar or so I'd assume.
Can anyone give me pros and cons to both games so I can make a somewhat educated decision, and is it neccessary to play any of the previous games to catch up to the new editions?

I'll try to answer when I have more time, but I'm playing WoW and it absolutly rocks game-wise. Play-wise they are still tweaking the servers but it gets better every day

All mmorpgs are different and suit different playstyles.

I played lots of them, and to me WoW fit my style the best.

If you can afford it try both. Don't make the mistake of just playing one and then assuming it's the best.

When you want to buy a new car or house you don't chose the first one, you look around. Same thing for mmorpgs. They'll take up a huge chunk of your time.

The only problem is the LACK OF PLAYABLE DEMO. I don't think you want to shell out $150 for both games to figure out which one you like.

I think you'd be better spending 150$ and finding which one you like now, rather than finding out after 300 hours of game time in one.
