Does anyone have, or know of, a list of traps and what effects they have?

Off the top of my head:

Spoilers...

Dagger Scatter - flings a dagger at trap tripper. (low damage)
Poison Darts - flings poison dart at trap tripper. (100% lvl 1-3 poison chance, in my experience)
Alarm - creates a sonic boom, may frighten/K.O. your party members, may also alert nearby enemies to your presence, but I haven't noticed that.
Rune of Madness - casts insanity at your party.
Guardian - summons a high level elemental who is not pleased to see you.
Rune of Chaos - casts prismic chaos at your party (much fun).
Rune of Death - casts deathwish at your party.
Anti-magic - sucks away a lot of your party's mana and dispells all your current buffs, (annoying if you're not alone).
Philosopher's Bane - makes a large percentage of your gold vanish, (I HATE this one).
Heatwave - makes a lot of your party's potions and scrolls disappear.
Lifestealer - not too sure, coz I've only once set it off and I didn't see an effect, it may cause draining.
Catapult - again not too sure, maybe whipping rocks?

There may be more that I can't remember just now, there's probably a list on the net somewhere, some of the othe IW members may know.

Yup, Lifestealer causes HP-draining, targets the entire party.

Thanks for the response. Wow, seems like some of them are pretty nasty. Glad I've rarely run into most of them.

Rune of death is fun. If my party has a high resistance to divine, I just bash them open, because of the sound it makes. Hardly ever lost anyone that way.

heatwave is the worst for packrats lugging around potions to be mixed at a later date.

If you reload, the trap often changes.
Not the contents, though...Except: if you leave the zone without having opened a chest, it's contents are rolled again when you reenter. (i found this out going back to an earlier save and finding different stuff in a chest where i'd been with both versions of the same party, but left unopened)

If you don't reload, the trap doesn't change.
So if you blow it off, but the chest doesn't open, you don't need to inspect it again.
