some gadgets locations (spoilers)

Hi there,

I'm looking for a few gadgets I couldn't locate. The laser pointer and the electric eye, which are supposed to be in lower Marten's bluff, and the high voltage generator, which is supposed to be in mount Giga. Could someone provide me with specific informations on these? Thanks.

If I remember rightly, the laser pointer is in the same room with the T'rang who sells things in Lower Marten's Bluff. You have to search to find it.

The other two items aren't in the game. This disappointed a lot of us who wasted hours looking for them.

If those two items are not in the game, how do we know they exist and how they should combine? Editors? Are there other items listed but not in the game?

In any case, it's another blow against the gadgeteer. It's my first time I take one this far and I can't say I'm impressed... Even at 15th level.

They were supposed to be in the game (like the devil doll that isn't in the Rapax castle), but for some reason - perhaps lack of time - didn't make it. However, these items were listed as available in the official hint book, which is why people started looking for them. Oh well.

P.S. Gadgeteers are best in parties that don't have a lot of heavy magic.

The story heard most often is that when EB pushed the release date forward, a number of plot lines were dropped in the rush to get the game out the door. Hence 'dangling participles' like Rattus and the bank job (remember the zip gun). I agree with towl2, a gadgeteer comes in handy if your party has a cut and slash flavor (rather than magic-heavy).

Yeah, that's the sad part, all the other little plot things that never were finished in time. Like the condemned house, and the Mook spaceship, and the lighthouse in Arnika, just to mention a few. And the mystery fountain in the NE wilderness was probably supposed to be something special, too. Sigh.
